HESEB Project:
- Project period: 4 years, project start 01/2019
- Project funding: 3,5 M€ from Helmholtz Association
- Project execution: Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, Forschungszentrum Jülich FZJ, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf HZDR, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin HZB and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT
- Partners: SESAME, user communities from SESAME members, in particular from Turkey
HESEB Goals:
- Design, technical specs, construction, installation & commissioning of a soft x-ray beamline at SESAME with space for two further experimental endstations
- Leverage additional contributions from SESAME members to build-up user consortia and raise additional funds for the experimental endstations/instruments
- Set up a dedicated training program for a future beamline scientist and provide targeted actions for future international beamline users, particularly for junior researchers, by special workshops and training/twinning programs
- Support of SESAME regarding international scientific networking, cooperation and collaboration
- Accompanying measures and activities to create public awareness and to make visible on the national and international level the Helmholtz engagement and the corresponding science diplomacy initiative
